Electrospinning of polymer nanofibers based on chiral polymeric nanoparticles

Chiral polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as a new and exciting field of research in the last years due to their possible use for many applications chiral chemistry however efficiency separating enantiomerically pure compounds has been always challenging. In this article, we focus on electrospun nanofibers formed by functional NPs based leucine or phenylalanine amino acids with polysulfone (PSF). Combining PSF electrospinning method provides us get intertwined membranes property used them separation racemic mixtures. We also studied conventional NPs. The were prepared miniemulsion polymerization characterized DLS, SEM, MS, NMR display spherical structure narrow size distribution range 200 250 nm. characteristics terms morphology analyzed. permselective properties all mixture using aqueous solutions leucine. Time-resolved circular dichroism column high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) provide evidence enantioselective separation. Our results show membrane which is gives best showing 18% enantiomeric excess (EE).
